Procurement PROCUREMENT PROFILE Purchasing and Warehouse is responsible for the acquisition of goods and services for the Alpine School District. You will have to indicate you are a "visitor" before permitted access to the site. PURCHASING GUIDELINES Guidelines have been established for Purchases Under $500, which tends to cover general materials and supplies. The $500 is the limit per order, not per item. The school principal must approve all purchases under $500. Additionally, the district publishes guidelines for Purchases Over $500. The school district principal and the assistant superintendent must approve all purchases in this price range. If the item is a non-budgeted request, approval must come from the principal, assistant superintendent and the Board of Education. STATE CONTRACTS Alpine staff are encouraged to purchase materials off of statewide contracts. District personnel may also opt to purchase off of the Warehouse Catalog or Office Depot online ordering. Procurement The Purchasing Department is a service and support organization committed to providing proactive and professional purchasing services. It follows the 6F-103 Purchasing Policy to purchase, establish contracts and generally carry on its procurement functions in a manner that deals equitably with all vendors and provides for efficient management and proper expenditure of public monies. This policy also advises suppliers on the rules, regulations, purchasing thresholds, etc. that govern the purchasing process. The Director of Purchasing is delegated authority by the Davis School District Board to carry out the procurement functions of the District and to ensure such functions are in accordance with established policies and written procedures. The Director may delegate, in writing, purchasing authority to other District employees as necessary to fulfill the purpose and philosophy of this policy. The Director is also given authority to withdraw delegated authority. The Purchasing Department has also published a Plan for Supporting Educational Excellence.
