The Purchasing
Department handles the acquisition of goods and services
for Denver Public Schools. It provides a Web-based Purchasing Handbook that provides links to
the department's specific policies.
IT suppliers will be most
interested in the section on Technology Equipment/Software. All
technology purchases (computers, printers and software) must be
approved by the Department of Technology Services; therefore,
district personnel will not see any computer-related vendors in the
"Term and Supply Catalog." All requests must be done on a Purchase
Requisition.
Additionally, the school district publishes a
Denver Public Schools Vendor Guide. This
document provides background information about the district and how
to do business with it.
VENDOR REGISTRATION An
application is available online.
MINORITY AND WOMEN-OWNED
BUSINESSES Also, suppliers should be advised that the
district has special provisions via Resolution 2443 for minority and women-owned businesses. A directory of such businesses is available
online.
BIDDING After reading all the proper
manuals, suppliers can read all available bids online and respond
appropriately.
CONTRACTS Suppliers can see who
holds the various contracts by reading the commodity listings.
CONTACTS Suppliers may use the staff listing to locate staff and their
areas of responsibility.

following guidelines are applies.
VENDOR
LINKS For school district staff convenience, the
district provides links to vendor sites. These links also
provide insight into which companies have contracts with that
school district. The list is extensive and broken down into
categories, including hardware and
software.
BIDDING In order to participate in
the bidding process, suppliers must fill out a Bidder's Application. The Bidder's
List must be kept active and as concise as possible for
greater economy and efficiency. Therefore, if a bidder does
not respond to an Invitation to Bid, we will assume they are
not interested and withdraw their name. General bidding
